evening.y: good evening. y mason. off tonight. fiscalthony mason. america went over the fiscal cliff at midnight, but we are still waiting to see if it will be a hard fall or a soft isnding. early this morning, the senate pass passed a compromise bill that raises raises income taxes for individuals earning $400,000 a ,000.and families earning $450,000. ever everyone else would be spared. it would also delay spending cuts for at least two months, and that does not sit well with many house republicans. cy, where do we go from here? we have two reports, beginning with nancy cordes at the capitol. >> reporter: anthony, house republicans do not like this deal. ousy say it needs serious spending cuts. so tonight, house republican le leaders are counting votes, otes a to figure out if they some enough republican votes-- and republican votes alone-- to pass a bill that puts some spending cuts into the deal, a move they acknowledge is risky. house speaker john boehner met with house republicans for an hour and a half today. he didn't share his opinion of the bill, but many other did.lic

and terps won 11 in a row, the longest winning streak in a decade and george mason having an okay season, 7-4 and tonight on the road against south florida, the second half and to collins. hits his head on that knee and down for a while. had to be stabilized before being taken off of the court and he scored 10 consecutive points and could get no closer than two and james johnson and virginia tech losing the three of the four games and out west, taking on byu and he hits the three, a career high 29 points in the first half a lone. up 17. the next possession off of themis and with that effort and that putback. the second half, how about mor. the rebound to davies and inside with a career high 42 on the day and virginia tech falls to byu, 97-71 and hokies open up acc play next saturday hosting maryland. >>> and off the wall is coming up next. there is one thing to talk about this week. >> and that is about it sunday night. who is going to win? >> and i am going to make a official prediction. >> wisdom martin phone call coming up. >> locked and loaded after the break. >> no doubt. >> set your

mason and south florida, the patriots trail until sherrod wright took over. he had a team high 22 but his team could get no closer than two. george mason is beaten by south florida. >>> this one would never really be close. the ciewrgz took a -- cougars took a 17-point lead into the break, went on to beat virginia tech. the hokies open up acc play next saturday hosting maryland. >>> navy marched into at&t park for the fight hunger bowl against arizona state. the mid shipmen came in winners of seven out of their last eight games but their winning ways would end here. second quarter the 52-yard touchdown. arizona state led 34-7 at the break. they would pile it on in the second half. the sun devils go on to beat navy 62-28. >>> now to the pin stripe bowl at yankee stadium. syracuse and west virginia got into a pregame scrub. as for the actual game, west virginia got on the board in the 32-yard touchdown on a screen, but again that wouldn't be enough. syracuse goes on to win 38-14. >>> and of course all sports are being trumped in the d.c. region by the skins-cowboys match-up tonight.

problem bill of rights. george mason was one of the members of the virginia delegation. he had written the delegation state of rights for virginia in 1776 and it actually was a few months before jefferson wrote the declaration of independence and jefferson realized for inspiration and for substance on the declaration of rights and the state of virginia, and when the convention was over mason who was a member of the virginia delegation wouldn't sign the constitution. washington was infuriated. but this indicated a real problem because the constitution goes into force with the nine states ratified if you didn't have a virginia or you didn't have new york it wouldn't work. and so came about one of the great in a formal agreements in american legal history. there was an agreement on an informal agreement that if the constitution were ratified as written by the 17 eda seven convention that there would be a bill of rights. and statesman -- and there were states and in those days kept their word. and so we had a bill of right
